The Great Divide between your well-polished — would you take care of your fingernails and toenails within the salon or at home- There are several factors to consider when you are attempting to pick where to gain your shiny pink digits:
- Cost : Yes, doing all of your own nails in your own home does have an upfront cost but how many manicures or pedicures are you going to garner in the one $5 bottle of polish and the $10 set of tools? You could easily have spent that on just one manicure in the salon.
- Time: It is so quicker to just buff those nails to some high gloss shine when you view television one evening rather than carve out at least an hour to invest at the salon.
- Quality: Inevitably, the most steady-handed of us will fudge a minumum of one nail. Plus they do certainly last longer than any at-home ones I've ever used one on myself.
Personally, It's my job to wind up splitting the difference. I do not like to have my fingernails painted, and so i opt for the buff manicures in your own home (unless it is a very special occasion). I do prefer to keep my toenails polished and my heels smooth, especially during sandal season, and so i usually splurge on a pedicure about monthly once the season calls for it. I recognize that might seem high-maintenance however i actually see it as low-maintenance since i don't constantly have to keep up with scrubbing my heels and applying lotion.
It is indeed a subjective decision though. If you have the available money and time, why don't you treat yourself? But when you're pinched for time or pinching pennies, this is an easy aspect to eliminate from the schedule and also the checkbook.
