We find it difficult to find only the perfect shade of blush to provide our faces that youthful flush without looking severely sunburned, but are you aware that your application technique and placement matters too? We are not referring to contouring or strobing or anything too complicated. I am talking about using the blush color based on the shape of the face.
- Oval – The oval-shaped face could possibly get away with almost any application; it is considered the 'ideal' face shape for almost anything. Do try to stick to the top of your cheekbone, not beneath it. This isn't contouring.
- Square – To soften this angular face shape, the very best application is within soft circles just on the apples of your cheeks. Do not blend it out too much towards your temple because this tends to widen your face.
- Long – For that long face, start the application under the center of the eye and blend outward. Then chances are you may have the 'space' to apply a little more than most, and you wish to emphasize the width of your cheeks not the duration of your face.
- Round – Round circles on the apples will emphasize the roundness of this face shape. Try for slightly lower around the cheek and for the outside to slim the face and visually create those cheekbones.
- Heart – Discover familiar with the center shape, it has a tendency to possess a wide forehead with high cheekbones along with a narrow chin. To balance these proportions, apply your blush to the outside of your cheekbones and blend for the center of your eye.
Do remember that for those who have changed the perception of the face shape through highlighting and contouring, you may want to adjust your blush application accordingly.
