The same theories apply for make as with fashion. If you love makeup like I do, it may be an expensive habit. But there are ways to cut the costs without sacrificing the enjoyment.

Spend – I tend to spend a bit more on the items that have to match my complexion flawlessly.

  • If you will splurge on one thing, a foundation could it be. While drugstores have expanded their shade selection, you may still find more options within the high-end brands. And with regards to the main one makeup product that will touch your whole face, you need to ensure that it is a perfect match as well as a good formula with sun protection.
  • Same goes for other complexion-evening products such as concealer. Again, you want to make sure you possess the best color match possible.
  • The only other item that I tend to splurge on is eye makeup primer. I prefer ones that match my complexion, so locating a great match that works well usually requires a little more. Plus, using a good quality primer means that my eye shadow can be less expensive but still last the day.

Save – Items that you will use infrequent or trendy items are still a good option to stretch your dollar.

  • If you are attempting out a red lipstick or liquid eyeliner for the first time, you may not want to spend $30 off the bat. Personally, I would stick to under $5. That way, if you do not enjoy it, you are able to toss it without a lot of regrets.
  • I find it difficult to spend over our limits money on mascara. I religiously toss mine after 3 months, why discard $20 after i can simply as quickly use something that cost me under $10.
