Does that makeup collection also need cleaning up, such as the closet? The start of a brand new year is the best time to make which happen! Throw out any expired or separated items, share or get rid of items which just are not useful any more, and find out what should be added.
The same three piles as the closet is useful for makeup: (1) items that are used regularly, (2) items which will never be used, and (3) items which could be worn if they were cleaned or repurposed (a dark eyeshadow that could be used being an eyeliner instead). Makeup could also get one more additional pile within the initial sorting – those items that are reserved for a specific function like waterproof mascara or that dressy red lipstick. These can be stored elsewhere.
Has that foundation with SPF expired or separated? Toss it and find a new one for that new year. It would also be a good time to revisit the shade and formula to make certain that it's still an ideal match. Between seasonal changes and the passage of your time, it is a wise decision to reevaluate the formula anyway.
If all the lipsticks are identical shade of neutral nude pink, try selecting one or two of your favorites to help keep, after which add a soft berry color to liven things up. If darker colors are intimidating, consider using a sheer gloss version instead.
If the eyeshadows are mainly browns and camels, consider using a green or purple eyeliner for a hint of color. And being an added tip, there is actually no need to buy nude eyeshadow. A dab of concealer plus a dusting of face powder can lead to the perfect nude shade every time.
