Do robot vacuums mop well? Could they be worth it?
The best robot vacuum and mops aren't as rare because they was once, however, many are superior to others. Many use removable pads (think Swiffers) that either disposable or made from reusable cloth (and perhaps, both!). My robot, the Roborock S7, has a reusable cloth that is easy to remove and wash either manually or by tossing it in to the washer.
Vibrating technologies are used to scrub your floors, and it is stronger than you might think. The models below also have raising technology that lifts the mop if this detects a rug or carpet. Neat, huh?
What are the most useful robot vacuum and mops?
There are lots of robot vacuum mops to choose from, so it really depends upon what you're looking for. One of our favorite best robot vacuum and mops comes from Bissel. It's triple action cleaning brushes, which are amazing at removing dirt from floors.

The Roborock S7 is my absolute favorite home cleaning tool, and one of the best robot vacuum and mops. I've had regular robot vacuums previously, however this one takes the wedding cake for its supreme mopping abilities and camera “eyes” that learned the house layout in just two passes. No, really! The first two times I made use of it, the robot type of moseyed around my house, occasionally pausing to look right and left – it was mapping each room and making note from the carpets because it cleaned. After the above passes, it continued to make use of its “eyes” to identify and avoid obstacles, like my kids' coats (that somehow always end up on the ground) or the stray empty Amazon box.
Now for that suction. I've got a dog and three cats, so lots of pet hair and stray food kibbles to go around. The S7's HyperForceTM suction doesn't have problem getting it all, even after I do not run the vacuum for a few days. It features a rubber brush that doesn't get tangled, although I actually do sometimes need to take it off (it easily pops out) to wash out a number of this thicker hair that gathers behind the comb.
The mop is basically a cloth pad attached to the vacuum that uses intense vibration to scrub the ground (as much as 3,000 times each minute!). There's a large water tank that I fill every other time I run the vacuum. Roborock doesn't recommend filling the canister with anything by water, however i cheat and sometimes add a capful of Lysol towards the water to create my floors smell lemony (careful to not use too much – the mop doesn't have a rinse cycle so that your floors will finish up soapy). After every clean cycle, I take away the cloth mop pad and wash it by hand with Dawn or Tide laundry detergent. It might be also added too the washing machine, however i find it's quicker to wash by hand.
I have two rugs that never surprisingly never get wet. That's because of the S7's VibraRise technology automatically lifts the mop and stops spraying water when it sees my carpets ahead. After that it lowers the mop once the robot is performed vacuuming the rug.
When it's finished, the S7 returns to the dock to recharge and empty in to the dock. Emptying is fairly loud, however it only takes a few seconds to complete. As for the robot itself, it isn't exactly “whisper” quiet, but it is not as loud as an upright, and i'm able to work in the same room without having to be bothered by the noise. Sometime I personally use the app to schedule the robot to clean at 5am, that way I can awaken to clean house (and steer clear of the children tripping onto it because it cleans around them).
Overall, I highly recommend the S7! It's easy to setup and use straight out of the box. And your floors will be really, truly clean.
