Generally speaking, it's not good to travel inside your full face of makeup. It usually ends up inside a flaky mess (should you are usually dry) or a puddle on your chin (should you tend to be oily). Granted, not many of us wish to appear to our destination looking tired and haggard and pale either. But overall I'm less concerned about how I check the plane and much more so about how exactly I look after i arrive. So go minimalist on the flight and edit right before landing.

  • Tinted moisturizer with SPF – Sufficient to even out the skin tone but still provide a shot of moisture plus sun-protection, it is the on top of that worlds. The sun's rays protection is oddly important with an airplane, as you are now likely to be approximately 30,000 feet closer and without cloud cover to safeguard.
  • Lip balm – This one is absolutely essential since airplanes are notoriously drying towards the skin. Your lips will be the to begin with you feel it. You can choose tinted if you prefer a little color. I prefer to carry a multi-use moisture stick to ensure that I'm also able to put it on under my eyes, throughout my cuticles, as well as on any other place that could be feeling extra flaky and tight.
  • Avoid mascara in addition to every other heavy eye shadows. If you happen to fall asleep on your flight, you can awaken having a serious case of raccoon eyes that might be hard to remove in that tiny airplane bathroom.

Just before I debark the plane, I usually add a touch of blush to my cheeks and concealer under my eyes to make sure that I look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for wherever I am headed!
