No matter just how long or short your flight is, your skin won' doubt suffer the effects from the airplane environment. For most of us, the skin we have will end up a strange mixture of flaky and greasy. It is not a pleasant effect! There are a few things that you can do to assist your skin through this unfriendly visit to the skies.
- Moisturize ahead of time! Add extra moisturizer and additional conditioner for your hair and skin even before you board the plane. A little bit of prevention can help you save over time.
- Moisturize during! Are you currently sensing a theme yet? Make sure to carry a portable moisturizer with you so you are prepared to combat the drying results of that cabin. I prefer to travel having a lip balm stick along with a lotion bar. Neither of these need to go into my 3-1-1 bag and they will help handle almost any dryness I encounter. After I personally use the lotion stick on my hands and cuticles, I even run my palms over my hair to deal with the fly-away hairs!
- Drink water! Okay, so this one is basically moisturizing from the inside out. If you are able to, try to avoid anything containing alcohol or caffeine since those ingredients only worsen the results from the dehydration.
- To the ultimate! I've yet to determine this on a plane myself, however, many individuals are recommending that you simply fly and among the popular sheet masks, and put it on on your flight. I understand fully this thinking, however i don't believe I am brave enough to test it. Perhaps a nice gel mask instead, so that you draw less attention to your skincare treatment.
Now you're on the glow!
