Outside of having the ability to employ a personal chef (ah, living the dream), it's wonderful to understand that whenever you get home at night, dinner is ready to pop into the oven. I was raised on casseroles, also referred to as hot dishes, and I still make use of them today. I prefer to make my casserole the night time before so that after i go back home from work, all I must do is pop it in to the oven as i clear the home and blend a salad or steam some veggies.
Here are three of my go-to recipes that everybody appears to love:
- Escort Chicken Casserole – The base of the casserole is 4 to 5 boiled chicken breasts combined with a can of cream of mushroom, a can of cream of chicken, along with a small container of sour cream. The whole mixture is topped with crushed escort crackers and melted butter. Add the topping the day you plan to really cook the casserole.
- Ham and Swiss Casserole – You will find loads of varieties for this mixture of egg noodles, cooked ham, shredded Swiss, cream of celery soup, sour cream, and chopped onions and peppers. I actually do have a problem finding shredded Swiss sometimes, but shredded mozzarella works great too.
- Impossibly Easy Mini Pies – There are plenty of options, it's not hard to please an audience. Depending on your friends and relatives, you may also make two or three varieties. Or try one of the brunch choices on Thanksgiving Day while you watch for that turkey to roast. Two of my top picks for dinner would be the Crab Cake and also the Cheeseburger. Serve with cocktail or tartar sauce (Crab Cake) or salsa (Cheeseburger). Completely bake these ahead of time and just heat them up the day's.
